Matt Festa earned the save Wednesday against the Rangers, working around a hit and walk to toss a scoreless inning.
Festa held onto the Mariners 4-2 lead to earn his second save on the season. Paul Sewald, Diego Castillo and Andres Munoz remain at the top of Seattle's bullpen so Festa is not a reliever to look into.
Matt Festa earned the save Saturday against the Rangers, striking out the side across a scoreless inning.
With Paul Sewald and Diego Castillo already having pitched, Festa got the opportunity to earn his first career save. He was able to do so in quick fashion, striking out all three Texas hitters he faced across 13 pitches.
The Mariners called up Matt Festa from Triple-A Tacoma Saturday.
Seattle also called up Matt Brash as Ken Giles was placed on the injured list and Erik Swanson was placed on the paternity list. He posted a 4.35 ERA across 20.2 innings earlier in the season in the Mariners bullpen and remains off the fantasy radar.
