Michael Blazek allowed eight runs over 2.1 innings in his first career start Thursday against the Nationals. He struck out four and walked one while allowed seven hits, six of which were home runs.
It couldn't have possibly gone worse for Blazek, who allowed four consecutive home runs in the the 3rd. Blazek's blow up could open the door for Josh Hader to enter the Brewers' rotation.
Blazek went 3.2 innings Sunday against Oakland allowing three runs on four hits in the Brewers 7-0 loss. Blazek also walked four but did manage to strike out four A's batters.
Blazek trying to make a late impression on the Brewers is likely to be on the roster as a long reliever or sent to Triple-A Nashville and become a spot start candidate at some point during the season. At this time, he's not worth fantasy consideration.
Blazek started Tuesday against Arizona going four innings allowing just one hit and no runs while striking out four in the Brewers 12-0 spring win.
Blazek at this time isn't worth fantasy consideration. If he makes the Brewers staff it will be in relief or he could see an injury spot start during the season. In 2013, he made seven appearances with Milwaukee all out of the pen but spent all of 2014 in the minors.
