Miguel Sano hosting workout Tuesday

Free agent infielder Miguel Sano is hosting a workout for MLB teams Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

Sano's club option was declined by the Twins earlier in the offseason, thus making him a free agent. While he's hit at least 25 home runs four times in his career, Sano has long been plagued by severe strikeout issues in the form of a massive 36.4% career K%. Nonetheless, his career 115 wRC+ suggests he should be able to find an interested party if all goes well for him Tuesday.

Miguel Sano's 2023 option declined by Twins

The Minnesota Twins have declined their 2023 option on Miguel Sano.

Fantasy Impact

Sano's option being declined is not a surprise considering he only suited up in 20 games last season. Sano spent most of the 2022 season injured and will now look for a team to join in free agency.

Miguel Sano (knee) continuing rehab assignment at Triple-A

Miguel Sano is moving his rehab assignment to Triple-A St. Paul.

Fantasy Impact

Sano is recovering from surgery on his meniscus. He's been out since April 30th and was batting .093 in 17 games, but he's batted .313 in his first five rehab games with two home runs. Sano could help power-needy teams when he eventually comes back, which should be sometime soon after the All-Star break.
