Nick Yorke went 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored but it wasn't enough as the Pirates dropped an 8-2 decision to the Padres on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Since his walk-off double last Saturday against the Orioles, Yorke has started three of Pittsburgh's last four games at third base and has gone 5-for-10 during the stretch. He accounted for half of Pittsburgh's six hits on Wednesday, including his second double of the year and a leadoff single in the seventh that left his bat at 109.8 mph. Yorke is batting .381 (8-for-21) on the season with three runs scored, two doubles, two RBI, and a 5:4 BB:K ratio. He is splitting time with Nick Gonzales while Jared Triolo (knee) is out, but he is certainly pushing for more action - even after Triolo returns - with the way he is swinging the bat. Keep an eye on him.
Nick Yorke's only at bat of the game resulted in a walk-off RBI double off of Baltimore reliever, Ryan Helsley, with one out in the bottom of the ninth as the Pirates came from behind to defeat Baltimore, 3-2, on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Yorke came on to pinch run for Marcell Ozuna in the bottom of the eighth and he came in to score the Pirates' tying run on an RBI single from Jake Mangum. Then, in the ninth, Bryan Reynolds started the rally with a one-out double and, after an intentional walk to Ryan O'Hearn, Yorke laced a double to left to bring home Reynolds for the winning run. Yorke is now 3-for-11 (.273) with two RBI and a 4:2 BB:K ratio through five appearances this season. He doesn't play enough yet to merit fantasy consideration.
Nick Yorke went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one strikeout in the Pirates’ 4-2 win over the Reds on Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact
Yorke has 13 hits, seven RBI, and one home run across 54 at-bats this season. Batting .241 with a .268 OBP, he’s shown flashes of production in a limited sample.
Nick Yorke has been called up from Triple-A.
Fantasy Impact
Yorke will join the Pirates for the first time this year after getting into 11 big-league games in 2024. The versatile 23-year-old has had a decent season for Triple-A Indianapolis, posting a .287 AVG with seven homers and 17 steals across 103 games.
Nick Yorke was placed on the 7-day injured list with a sore right shoulder.
Fantasy Impact
Yorke has been dealing with a shoulder injury since spring training. Pirates' general manager Ben Cherington stated they do not want him playing compromised and the stay on the IL should be short.
