Orlando Arcia has signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins, which, more than likely, includes an invitation to MLB Spring Training camp.
Fantasy Impact
Arcia, a 10-year veteran in the big leagues, struggled at the plate last season, hitting just .202 in 214 plate appearances with the Braves and Rockies. Arcia enjoyed his best season in 2023 when he batted .264 with 17 home runs and 65 RBI in Atlanta while being named an All-Star. Arcia, who broke into the big leagues with the Brewers in 2016, will provide an experienced depth piece at shortstop for the Twins.
The Colorado Rockies activated Orlando Arcia from the injured list on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Arcia returned from the injured list on Saturday, but did not start in favor of Kyle Karros, who has been hot, going 7-for-22 with two doubles over his last seven games. Arcia is likely to split time at third base with Karros. In a corresponding move, Aaron Schunk was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.
The Rockies placed Orlando Arcia on the injured list with right elbow inflammation.
Fantasy Impact
Arcia will be sidelined for at least the next week and a half due to an elbow injury he suffered. He does not have a timetable to return.
Orlando Arcia went 1-for-4 in win over the Pirates with a home run, two RBI, and one run scored.
Fantasy Impact
The 30-year-old has struggled to produce in limited opportunities at the plate, hitting just .165 with two home runs and three RBI over his last 30 games. After yesterday’s win, Arcia's season stats reflect a .181 batting average with three home runs and eight RBI across 55 games played.
Orlando Arcia went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in a 4-3 win over the Brewers in 11 innings on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Arcia hit a clutch homer, tying the game at 2-2 with two outs in the ninth. The veteran infielder is now hitting .196 with two homers, six runs, and six RBI in 34 games this season. He hit 34 homers for the Braves across the previous two seasons, so he definitely has some power potential in his bat while playing his home games at Coors Field.
