Owen Caissie hits walk-off homer for series sweep Sunday

Owen Caissie delivered a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Miami Marlins to a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies and complete the series sweep. He came off the bench on Sunday, going 1-for-2.

Fantasy Impact

While Caissie did not draw the start on Sunday against a left-handed pitcher on the bump, he entered the game in the eighth inning and delivered a walk-off home run in the ninth. The rookie put together an excellent series, going 5-for-10 with two runs scored, four RBI and one stolen base. He should continue to see plenty of action in the outfield, especially with Kyle Stowers (hamstring) not expected to return until late April.

Owen Caissie records three hits Saturday

Owen Caissie went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and a stolen base in the Miami Marlins’ 4-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Caissie, the Marlins’ No. 3 prospect, has started both games this season and is 4-for-8 with two doubles, two RBI and a stolen base. Based on his strong start, he is expected to continue in an everyday role, splitting time between the outfield and designated hitter.

Owen Caissie to get a couple days off

Marlins outfielder Owen Caissie will get couple of days off after returning from the World Baseball Classic.

Fantasy Impact

Caissie will get a breather in Marlins camp after plenty of travel and playing time while representing Canada at the WBC. The headliner in the return for right-hander Edward Cabrera from the Cubs, the 23-year-old is expected to be a franchise pillar for the Marlins after a 12-game debut for the Cubs last season.

Owen Caissie heads to Miami in four-player trade with Cubs

Owen Caissie has been traded from the Chicago Cubs to the Miami Marlins, along with two other prospects, in exchange for righthander Edward Cabrera. The deal is official and all physicals have been passed.

Fantasy Impact

Caissie is the headliner of the package being sent to Miami from Chicago as the power-hitting outfielder was the top prospect - and 47th overall according to MLB Pipeline - in the Cubs' organization. Caissie made his Major League debut last season and went 5-for-26 with a home run in 12 games with the Cubs. Prior to that, he hit .286 with Triple-A Iowa, belting 22 home runs in 99 games. He is a career .280 hitter in five minor league seasons and totaled 120 doubles and 81 home runs in 505 games. Caissie should immediately slot into one of the corner outfield slots for the Marlins in 2026 and certainly has 25-30 homer potential in a young Miami lineup.
