Owen Caissie has been traded from the Chicago Cubs to the Miami Marlins, along with two other prospects, in exchange for righthander Edward Cabrera. The deal is official and all physicals have been passed.
Fantasy Impact
Caissie is the headliner of the package being sent to Miami from Chicago as the power-hitting outfielder was the top prospect - and 47th overall according to MLB Pipeline - in the Cubs' organization. Caissie made his Major League debut last season and went 5-for-26 with a home run in 12 games with the Cubs. Prior to that, he hit .286 with Triple-A Iowa, belting 22 home runs in 99 games. He is a career .280 hitter in five minor league seasons and totaled 120 doubles and 81 home runs in 505 games. Caissie should immediately slot into one of the corner outfield slots for the Marlins in 2026 and certainly has 25-30 homer potential in a young Miami lineup.
