Pavin Smith went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a walk in the Diamondbacks' 10-3 loss to the Angels on Sunday.
Smith picked up an RBI single off of Patrick Sandoval in the fourth inning to finally put the D-Backs on the board. Arizona was down 6-1 at that point so it didn't really move the needle. Smith would also reach base with a walk. The 25-year-old is quietly putting together a great season for the last-place Diamondbacks. He's slashing .288/.344/.441 to go along with 14 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 22 RBI, and a stolen base across 229 at-bats.
Outfielder Pavin Smith went 0-for-4 with a strikeout as the Diamondbacks were shut out by the Brewers by a score of 2-0 on Sunday.
Arizona only had six hits as a team as Corbin Burnes struck out 13 batters over seven innings. Smith was one of four starters that failed to record a hit. The 25-year-old rookie is still putting together a nice season in the desert though. He's batting a solid .288/.342/.448 with five home runs and 21 RBI across 212 at-bats. He's a fantasy asset in deeper mixed leagues.
First baseman Pavin Smith went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and one walk as the Diamondbacks took down the Mets 6-5 in extra-innings on Tuesday.
The D-Backs couldn't get anything going against Mets starter Marcus Stroman, who kept them off the scoreboard until the bottom of the sixth inning. Smith put Arizona back in the game with a three-run bomb, his fifth of the season, to pull the D-Backs to within one run. He would later reach base on a walk and score the game-winning run off of a Josh Reddick double in the bottom of the 10th inning. The 25-year-old has put together an excellent 1/3 of a season so far. He's rocking a .288/.336/.455 batting line to go along with five home runs and 21 RBI over 198 at-bats. He's capable of providing fantasy value in deeper mixed leagues.
First baseman Pavin Smith went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and two walks as the Diamondbacks lost to the Cardinals 8-6 on Friday.
Smith had a solid day at the dish, collecting his 12th double and third triple of the season. He also drew a pair of walks in the contest. Unfortunately, no one was on base for extra-base hits and no one was able to hit him in either. The 25-year-old is no working an eight-game hitting streak, which has steadied his slash line to a solid .277/.327/.440 to go along with four home runs and 18 RBI across 184 at-bats.
Pavin Smith went 2-for-4 with two huge doubles that brought the score to 4-3 and inevitably tied it an inning later.
Smith continues to build upon the small, but impressive, sample size seen from him in 2020. He is now hitting .271 with four home runs and 18 RBIs and should certainly be owned in most leagues.
