The Brewers placed Ray Black on the 10-day injured list with a strained right rotator cuff.
Fantasy Impact
Black suffered the injury over the weekend and could be in danger of missing the entire 2020 season. He was expected to serve as a setup man for the Brew Crew this year.
RHP Ray Black was removed from Sunday's intrasquad game after experiencing tightness in his throwing shoulder, per Brewers' manager Craig Counsell.
Fantasy Impact
Black left Sunday's game with shoulder tightness. "Opening day is in jeopardy, for sure," said Counsell. He is looking to secure a roster spot and will most likely work in the middle innings. The 30-year-old owned a 5.06 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB across 16 innings for the Giants/Brewers in 2019.
Ray Black has been optioned back to the Sacramento River Cats.
Fantasy Impact
The right-handed reliever has been sent back down from the big club. Black has appeared twice this season and carries a 4.50 ERA and a 2.50 WHIP rendering him not relevant for fantasy owners.
Ray Black gets his second win Monday against the Dodgers after pitching a perfect eight and the Giants rallying for four runs in the ninth. He struck out two in the inning.
Fantasy Impact
Black is not a fantasy option as he went almost a week between appearances. If he starts getting hold chances then he becomes a fantasy option.
Ray Black recorded the loss Tuesday after allowing two runs in the eight inning.
Fantasy Impact
This was the first time Black allowed a run since July 8th. He has pitched well out of the bullpen, but has not been given save chances. He is not a fantasy option unless his role changes.
