The 34-year-old outfielder has been a platoon player for much of his career and should see action against left-handed pitching. He does join a crowded outfield in Seattle, but he could see starts against left-handed pitching in either the outfield or at DH and, at the very least, will be a solid bat off the bench against lefties late in games.
