Rougned Odor has been designated for assignment by the Padres Tuesday.
Odor will hit waivers with the potential of joining a new team in the near future. The 29-year-old hit .210/.306/.370 in 59 games with the Padres this season.
Padres infielder Rougned Odor is on the bench Thursday versus the Guardians.
The Padres are stacking right-handed bats against Guardians southpaw Logan Allen on Thursday, leaving Odor on the bench. The lefty-swinging veteran has enjoyed a solid season, hitting four homers with two stolen bases alongside a .721 OPS across 110 trips to the plate.
Roughned Odor is in the lineup for the San Diego Padres against the Cleveland Guardians Wednesday night.
Odor is back for manager Bob Melvin, batting eighth and starting at second base against the Guardians Wednesday night.
San Diego Padres second baseman Rougned Odor is hitting in the leadoff spot Monday against the Cubs.
It's just the second start of the season for Odor in the leadoff spot as Xander Bogaerts is missing his second straight game with a wrist injury. After struggling for several seasons, Odor has four homers, two steals, a 10.1% BB%, and much lower 20.2% K% across 99 trips to the plate this season. His 101 wRC+ pegs his bat 1% above the league average after finishing well below the league average in each season since 2017.
Rougned Odor went 1-for-4 with two RBI, crushing a two-run homer, and one run scored in the 10-7 loss.
Despite the loss, Odor has shown some power this season with four homers and 17 RBI in 30 games played, but his .210 batting average and high strikeout rate of 0.211 have limited his overall production.
