Ryan McMahon belts two homers in return from IL

Ryan McMahon went 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBI as the Rockies beat the Phillies 6-2 on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

McMahon was a one man wrecking crew in this one, driving in five of his team's six runs. The infielder was just activated off the injured list earlier today and should see close to regular playing time moving forward. Make sure to get him into your fantasy lineups as the Rockies have a bunch of home games coming up.

Ryan McMahon (elbow) returns from injury, starting at first

Ryan McMahon has been reinstated from the IL and will rejoin Colorado on Thursday. McMahon will bat fifth in the order for the Rockies.

Fantasy Impact

With McMahon back, fantasy managers could find a breakout player on their waiver wire as he is owned in 7-percent of ESPN leagues. McMahon made a lot of noise in Spring Training and earned the starting job out of camp due to his .424/.470/.763 slash line. Prior to his injury, McMahon was not seeing the success he had in Spring Training, slashing .200/.310/.280 in 25 at-bats.

Ryan McMahon on verge of return

Ryan McMahon (left elbow strain) played in an extended spring training game on Tuesday and is scheduled to play in another one on Wednesday. He is eligible to be activated from the injured list as of Tuesday and his return is considered imminent.

Fantasy Impact

The Rockies will once again have something of a logjam once McMahon and David Dahl are back, with Garrett Hampson, Ian Desmond, Mark Reynolds, and Pat Valaika all candidates to potentially lose some playing time.

Ryan McMahon (elbow) lands on 10-day IL

The Rockies have placed Ryan McMahon on the 10-day injured list with a left elbow strain.

Fantasy Impact

McMahon hyperextended his elbow in a collision at first base on Friday night and wasn't in Saturday's lineup. It's not yet known how much time he will miss but fantasy owners should try to stash him on IL if possible. Mark Reynolds should see an uptick in playing time during his absence.

Ryan McMahon has hyperextended elbow, IL a possibility

Rockies manager Bud Black says Ryan McMahon suffered a hyperextended elbow in a collision at first base on Friday.

Fantasy Impact

Black added McMahon is “very sore” and that a trip to the injured list is a possibility. It would be a disappointment for a young player who had a terrific spring training and was looking at everyday at bats in Colorado. The Rockies will likely provide another update on him by tomorrow.
