Gipson-Long did not pitch during spring training so he will report to Triple-A to get up to speed. Last season, Gipson-Long made three starts and five relief appearances with the Tigers and posted a 7.18 ERA with a 26:6 K:BB ratio in 31.1 innings. Prior to missing all of 2024 with an injury, he had much more success in his first stint with Detroit in 2023. He went 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in four starts, striking out 26 batters in 20 innings. Gipson-Long made one rehab appearance in Single-A Lakeland this year and now will join the rotation in Triple-A Toledo. He'll get stretched out there before a determination will be made on him rejoining the Tigers' staff.
