Sean Sullivan allowed eight runs on nine hits in four innings in his second career start on Wednesday as the Cubs defeated the Rockies, 8-6.

Sullivan was done in by a seven-run second inning from the Cubs' offense as he allowed just a run on two hits in his other three innings of work. After going three scoreless in his first career start, Sullivan saw his ERA balloon to 10.29 across seven innings at the major league level after the outing. If the lefthander gets another turn in the rotation, it would come on Tuesday at home against Boston.

Sullivan has had a nice spring in Rockies camp, allowing three earned runs with eight strikeouts against three walks across 10 2/3 innings of work. The 23-year-old southpaw posted a quality 2.94 ERA across 20 starts between High-A and Double-A in 2025, 18 of which came at the Double-A level.
