Slade Heathcott has been plagued by injuries throughout his minor league career and is looking to stay healthy and earn his shot in the Big Leagues. If the athletic outfielder can stay healthy, there is a good chance he could get his first cup of coffee in the Bronx this summer.

With Chris Young and Ramon Flores struggling in the race for fourth OF, Slade Heathcott may find a way to be a part of the Yankees rotation in the OF in 2015. He has been injured in the past, but there is no question about his skills and could be a dark horse if he stays healthy. Slade Heathcott's skill set right now is similar to Brett Gardner's and could be in the Bronx by late 2015 or early 2016.

If he shows the promise during the season that he has in Spring Training, he may be up in the majors very quickly.

Heathcott is the most pleasant surprise for the Yankees this spring and is fulfilling the promise of being a former first round pick in 2009. Heathcott knew this was his last chance for the Yankees, as he signed a minor league contract for the season, and has four runs scored and three RBI to go with his outstanding batting average this spring. Heathcott should open the season in AAA Scranton Wilkes-Barre and could be the fourth OF in the majors this year if Ramon Flores or Chris Young is ineffective.
