The Phillies signed Spencer Turnbull to a one-year deal.
Turnbull was banged up for the majority of last season with the Tigers. He'll look to earn a spot in the Phillies starting rotation out of Spring Training.
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Spencer Turnbull will make a rehab start on Tuesday for High-A West Michigan.
Turnbull is also expected to make another rehab start on Sunday. He has been sidelined since May due to discomfort in his neck.
Spencer Turnbull is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
Turnbull was cleared to begin a throwing program in the middle of June. He is working his way back from neck discomfort that has sidelined him since May.

Turnbull has been cleared to throw a touch and feel bullpen session later this week. He was transferred to the 60-day IL earlier in June, and remains without a clear timetable to return.

This is a corresponding move to make room on the 40-man roster after the Tigers claimed Nick Solak. He was recently cleared to begin some strength and conditioning, but will still not make a return before mid-July.
