The Tigers are reportedly interested in signing free agent RHP Taijuan Walker, per Jon Morosi of the MLB Network.
Fantasy Impact
Walker is drawing interest from the Tigers as the team would like add a veteran starter this offseason. Both parties will try to work out a deal. Walker was terrific in a 2020 shortened campaign with the Blue Jays/Mariners, posting a 2.70 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 50:19 K:BB over 53 1/3 innings.
Taijuan Walker didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 10-5 win over the Orioles, retiring all nine batters he faced before giving way to the bullpen. He struck out four.
Fantasy Impact
Since joining the Blue Jays, Walker has posted a stellar 1.37 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 25:11 K:BB over 26 1/3 innings. And is 4-3 with a 2.70 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 50/19 K/BB ratio across 53 1/3 innings overall between Toronto and Seattle.
Taijuan Walker allowed one run, on four hits and two walks during Sunday's win over the Phillies. He record eight strikeouts along the way.
Fantasy Impact
After a first inning RBI double, Walker proceeded to shutout the Phillies offense. The eight strikeouts tied a season high and gave Walker his fourth win to go along with a 2.86 ERA. His next start should come against Baltimore at the end of the week.
Taijuan Walker took the loss Tuesday as the Blue Jays were routed 20-6 by the Yankees, giving up seven runs (but only one earned) on six hits over 1 2/3 innings. He struck out two.
Fantasy Impact
Walker did not get any support from his fielders but also gave up a couple of home runs. The 28-year-old righty has a 3.05 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP and 38:17 K:BB through 44 1/3 innings and will face the Phillies on Sunday in his next outing.
Taijuan Walker allowed two hits and five walks while striking out three across four innings Tuesday against the Yankees. He did not factor in the decision.
