Fantasy Impact
Motter, a 31-year-old infielder who saw no MLB action in 2019 or 2020, is now 3-for-20 with two walks and six strikeouts with the Rockies this season. He has appeared in 13 games since his return to the majors on August 10th.
Rockies third baseman Taylor Motter went 0-for-3 with a walk against the Astros on Wednesday. He also stranded a team-most four runners in the process. Houston ultimately defeated Colorado by a score of 5-1.
Fantasy Impact
Motter is still searching for his first hit of the season. Promoted to the majors on Tuesday, the 31-year-old is now 0-for-6 with a pair of walks. A 17th-round pick of the Rays in 2011, Motter has a career .188/.263/.307 slash line with 37 RBI, 38 walks, and 89 strikeouts through 143 games spanning parts of four seasons with the Rays, Mariners, Twins, and Rockies. Prior to being called up to the MLB level, Motter was hitting .335 with 24 homers at Triple-A.
Taylor Motter got the start in right field Tuesday for Minnesota and went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout.
Fantasy Impact

Taylor Motter was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Motter parlayed a strong spring to a spot on Seattle's Opening Day 25-man roster. But after slashing a meager .204/.272/.355, he was sent down to Tacoma on July 24. The 27-year-old utility man did, however, manage to steal nine bases and hit seven homers with 23 RBIs and 24 runs scored. Because Motter's playing time will most likely be limited, he should be avoided in most fantasy settings. In a corresponding move, Danny Espinosa was placed on waivers for his unconditional release.
Taylor Motter has been optioned by Seattle to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday. In a corresponding move, the Mariners could add Danny Espinosa, who agreed to a Major League contract with the team on Sunday, to the active roster.
Fantasy Impact
Motter, a 27-year-old infielder, has cooled off considerably, hitting .180 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in his past 52 games. Motter's demotion was sealed when he made a costly base-running error in Sunday's game against the Yankees. He was picked off first base when he came on as a pinch runner in the bottom of the ninth with no outs, and the Mariners trailing by two runs.
