Rumfield took Phillies' starter, Taijuan Walker, deep for his second home run of the season, extending the Colorado lead to 3-0. Rumfield won the Rockies' starting first baseman job with a sensational spring that saw him hit .286 with five home runs and 13 RBI in 64 plate appearances. He has carried that over into his rookie season as he is now hitting .345 (10-for-29) with two home runs and five RBI in nine games. Rumfield has a firm grip on the role at the moment and could easily hit 20 home runs with a solid average in his rookie season. Now is the time to grab him if he is still lingering on the wire.

Rumfield is 6-for-9 at the plate in the last two games after going 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI on Monday night. Two of his three hits on Tuesday came off of future Hall of Fame, Max Scherzer. With his second straight three-hit game, Rumfield is now hitting .444 (8-for-18) with a double, home run, and three runs batted in. The window to pounce on the rookie first baseman may be closing quicker than expected.

Rumfield's rookie season has gotten off to an impressive start as he upped his average to .357 (5-for-14) with an OPS of 1.081. The first baseman has scored three runs and has driven in three with two of his five hits (double, home run) going for extra bases. Rumfield appears to have a stranglehold on the starting first base job in Colorado and should be, at least, on the watch list in most fantasy leagues.

TJ Rumfield went 1-for-4 with a solo home run - the first round-tripper of his career - in Colorado's 4-3 loss to Miami on Saturday. His home run on Saturday was a 423-foot blast off of Marlins' starter, Eury Perez.

Rumfield broke camp with the Rockies after going 16-for-56 (.286) with five home runs and a 5:2 BB:K ratio during the spring. He has started both games at first base for Colorado and has recorded a hit in each game, going 2-for-7 thus far. Rumfield has excellent plate discipline, decent power, and appears to be ready for an every day role at first base for the Rockies. Unless you are in a deeper league, there's no need to run to the waiver wire just yet. But, you may want to put him on your watch list.
