The Mets are considering inserting Tobias Myers into the rotation.
Fantasy Impact
The Mets need someone to fill-in for Clay Holmes. Myers has been a reliever this season, but he was previously a starter with the Brewers.
Tobias Myers will make his first start of the season on Sunday against the Cubs. He'll take David Peterson's spot in the rotation.
Fantasy Impact
Myers has pitched well in six appearances for the Mets this season, posting a 3.46 ERA with a 9:1 K:BB ratio in 13.1 innings. The righthander started 31 of his 49 appearances with the Brewers in his first two seasons and went 8-7 with a 3.48 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP in 155.1 innings as a starter. However, Myers has not worked more than three innings in a game this season, so it will be interesting to see how deep he can go on Sunday. Peterson, meanwhile, has struggled to an 0-3 record, a 6.41 ERA, and a 1.83 WHIP in his four starts, so this appears to be an attempt to spark both Peterson and the Mets, who enter Sunday's game on a 10-game losing streak.
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Tobias Myers will be on the team's Opening Day roster.
Fantasy Impact
Myers was traded to the Mets in the Freddy Peralta deal. If the rotation is full, Myers will pitch out of the bullpen for the Mets.
The Mets are acquiring Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers from the Brewers for Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat.
Fantasy Impact
Peralta is the headliner, but Myers is also headed to New York. He posted a 3.55 ERA across 22 appearances (six starts) for Milwaukee last season. He'll add depth as a swingman for the Mets.
The Brewers recalled RHP Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville.
Fantasy Impact
Myers takes the roster spot of Grant Anderson who was placed on the injured list. He'll add depth for Milwaukee.
