Torii Hunter went 1-for-4 with a RBI in the 7-1 victory.
The RBI was Hunter's 77th of the season. His value is harmed by the .242 batting average and his advanced age makes trusting him past this season in long term leagues tricky.
Hunter went 2-for-4 with a solo HR on Sunday. The HR was his 21st of the season. He added another run scored in the game.
He is not a top OF in fantasy but he has his games where he is productive. It is just difficult to predict those and the .247 batting average is not helpful.
The Twins beat the Chicago White Sox on Sunday 7-0. Torii Hunter drove in four of those runs, three of them with a home run in the first inning.
Hunter has long been known for his power, but has been inconsistent over the last few years. He now has 19 home runs on the year, but is batting only .238. He is capable of much better, as his career batting average is .277.
The Twins are at home tonight to face ace Chris Sale and the White Sox. Game time is 8:10 p.m. (ET).
You can't really rely too much on batter vs. pitcher splits in your fantasy game. Sure, Torii Hunter has a .275 lifetime average vs. Chris Sale in 40 at bats against the lefty, but the 40-year-old Hunter has been struggling at the plate hitting a mere .143 over the past two weeks. I wouldn't chance him now opposing the ace Sale.
The Twins again gave veteran OF Torii Hunter the night off Wednesday. It was the third game in the last week that Hunter sat out.
Hunter surprised many with his start to the season, but he's largely struggled over the last two months. His issues at the plate, and the rest the team is given him, has mostly taken him out of fantasy relevance.
