Dotel has been a bright spot in the Pirates' bullpen since his most recent call up a little over a week ago. Over his last two outings, Dotel has allowed two hits while striking out eight in six scoreless innings. Overall, he is 1-0 with a 1.32 ERA, limiting opponents to a .146 average and posting a 14:3 K:BB ratio in 13.2 innings this season. Dotel is quickly working himself into more high-leverage situations out of the Pirates' bullpen.

The righthander needed only 41 pitches - 28 strikes - to retire nine of the ten batters he faced. Dotel looks like he is primed to be a key part of the Pirates' bullpen moving forward as the unit, on a whole, has struggled as of late. He's had two separate stints in Pittsburgh this season and, in five appearances, has pitched to a 1.69 ERA with a 10:3 K:BB ratio across 10.2 innings.
