Wilking Rodriguez

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Derrick Goold will miss the next four-to-six months after undergoing shoulder surgery, according to manager Oliver Marmol.

Rodriguez, whose lone MLB experience came in two innings with the 2014 Royals, was selected in the Rule 5 draft by the Cardinals this winter. He has pitched in Venezuela and Mexico in recent seasons and made two appearances at Triple-A with the Cardinals this season, allowing zero runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout. The hard-throwing righty might be in tough to make his long-awaited MLB return in 2023.
