Eligibility
The Guardians have designated right-hander Zach Plesac for assignment on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
With Triston McKenzie coming off the injured list, the Guardians needed to open up a roster spot and Plesac is the casualty during a tough 2023 campaign. The 28-year-old struggled to a 7.59 ERA in five MLB starts this season, although his 4.66 SIERA suggests he wasn't quite that bad. Don't be surprised to see Plesac latch on somewhere else quickly given his steady 4.20 career ERA.
Zach Plesac allowed five runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings in an 8-7 loss to the Red Sox in 10 innings on Saturday. Plesac struck out one and walked one while taking a no-decision.
Fantasy Impact
Plesac wasn't very sharp in this one, allowing a three-run homer in the first inning. He wound up with just two swinging strikes and just a 16% CSW. Plesac's ERA now sits at 7.59 through five starts. He will look to turn it around next time out, which will be Saturday against the Twins.
Zach Plesac allowed three runs on 10 hits over five innings in a 3-2 loss to the Marlins in Game 2 of a Saturday doubleheader. Plesac struck out five and walked two while taking the loss.
Fantasy Impact
Plesac allowed just one run through the first five innings but Miami got to him for two runs in the sixth. Plesac finished with nine swinging strikes on 90 pitches before departing. Overall, Plesac has a 1-1 record, 6.50 ERA, 1.83 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts over 18 innings of work in 2023. His next start will be Tuesday, May 2 against the Yankees.

Zach Plesac allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits over five innings in a 6-4 win over the Nationals on Saturday. Plesac earned the win while striking out one and walking none.
Fantasy Impact
Plesac was fortunate that he was facing off against a weak Washington team. He notched nine swinging strikes on 79 pitches in the win. Plesac now has a 1-0 record, 6.92 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and eight strikeouts over 13 innings of work. His next start will come on Friday against the Marlins.
