Avery Owusu-Asiedu traded to Diamondbacks
According to MLB Pipeline, outfield prospect Avery Owusu-Asiedu has been traded from the Philadelphia Phillies to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for LHP Kyle Backhus.

Owusu-Asiedu, who played collegiately at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, was a ninth-round pick by the Phillies in the 2023 MLB Draft. The 22-year-old outfielder spent the second half of last season in High-A where he batted .247 with two home runs and 17 stolen bases in 49 games with Jersey Shore in the South Atlantic League. He combined for seven home runs and 33 stolen bases in 107 games with Clearwater (A) and Jersey Shore in 2025. The speedster has batted .226 with 17 home runs and has gone 52-of-60 in stolen base attempts over his 218 career minor league games.
