Smith, who will turn 36 in April, has a 5.79 ERA in 247.1 career innings while pitching for the Padres, Royals, Brewers, Giants, Athletics, Marlins, and Orioles. He last pitched in the big leagues in 2024 and will look to back to the show with Detroit.
