Eli Morgan has agreed to a minor league deal with the Kansas City Royals. The righthander gets an invitation to Spring Training as part of the contract.
Fantasy Impact
Morgan suffered through a disappointing and injury-plagued season with the Cubs in 2025, pitching to a 12.27 ERA in seven outings with Chicago before missing most of the rest of the year with an elbow impingement. Morgan has had success in the majors as he was a valuable part of Cleveland's bullpen from 2022-24. Just two years ago, Morgan posted a 1.93 ERA in 42 innings with the Guardians. He will look to resurrect his career in 2026 and could make the opening day roster in Kansas City as a middle reliever.
