Eric Surkamp doesn't last long versus Rangers
Eric Surkamp was hit hard and often Tuesday night at home against the Rangers, allowing seven earned runs in just 2 1/3 innings. He gave up seven hits and walked two while striking out just one.
Two home runs were part of the damage for Surkamp as he was called up to make this start. Surkamp has been a mess in the A's rotation so far this season as his ERA has ballooned all the way to 8.07 in 29 innings, and he only struck out 15 batters. Given those numbers and a WHIP of 2.10, Surkamp can be completely avoided in his next start against the Angels, and any starts that follow.
