Long-time big-league pitcher Ian Kennedy has announced his retirement from professional baseball.

The right-hander began his career as a stater but transitioned to a relief role in the 2019 season. He retires after making 497 big-league appearances, 290 of which were starts, while working to a solid 4.16 ERA in 1,904 1/3 innings of work. He appeared in 16 games for the Rangers in 2023 but struggled to a 7.16 ERA in his final MLB campaign.
