Seymour was used as the opener in Monday's contest and turned in his longest outing of the season, tossing a season-high four innings while throwing 55 pitches, 37 of them for strikes. The only damage against him came on a solo home run by Marcelo Mayer in the third inning. After this strong performance, Seymour could be called upon to serve as an opener again during the weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels.
