Expert NoteView More Notes
Cronenworth wound up being one of the best waiver pickups of the 2020 season. He provided a great batting average (.285) with multi-position eligibility. The counting stats - mainly the four homers and three steals - left a lot to be desired, however. Cronenworth ultimately profiles as a better "real life" player than he does as a fantasy option. Still, in deeper roto leagues that use batting average, his contact skills and defensive versatility give him a fantastic floor. I just don't expect him to be a fantasy difference-maker in most 10-12 team leagues.

Jake Cronenworth named as a finalist for 2020 NL ROY
Jake Cronenworth, along with Alec Bohm and Devin Williams, has been named as a finalist for the 2020 NL Rookie of The Year award.
Cronenworth put up a solid season in San Diego, slashing .285/.354/.477 with four home runs, 20 RBI, and three stolen bases across 172 at-bats. Bohm broke on to the scene in mid-August for the Phillies and finished with a .338 batting average and .881 OPS with four home runs and 23 RBI over 160 AB's. Williams was sensational out of the Brewers bullpen, registering a 4-1 record with a 0.33 ERA, 0.63 WHIP, and a 53:9 K/BB ratio over 27 innings. A case could be made for all three to take home the award but the winner will officially be announced on November 9th.
