Jameson Taillon allowed five home runs on Saturday and surrendered eight runs on eight hits over five innings in the Cubs' 8-3 loss to the White Sox.
Fantasy Impact
Taillon gave up a three-run home run in the first, two solo shots in the third, one two-run homer in the fifth, and another solo shot to the only batter he faced in the sixth. The veteran now leads the majors with 16 home runs allowed in nine starts this season and the five home runs he served up on Saturday were one shy of tying the major league record. When Taillon has been on, he's been quite good as he has allowed three earned runs or fewer in six of his nine starts. He also has a respectable 42:17 K:BB ratio in 50 innings this season. But, the home runs have become a major problem and he is on pace to take a run at a record he doesn't want. Bert Blyleven currently holds the record for most home runs allowed in a season in the modern era with 50 back in 1986. Taillon is 2-3 with a 4.97 ERA and is scheduled to take on the Astros on Friday.
