Romero finished 2025 with a 2.07 ERA and 55:29 K:BB across 61 innings, and he already has closing experience with the Cardinals — he and Riley O'Brien shared ninth-inning duties down the stretch after Ryan Helsley was traded. Matt Svanson and Ryne Stanek are also expected to factor into save situations in St. Louis.
