Marco Luciano felt fatigued toward the end of 2021
Luciano is feeling great as he prepares for the 2022 season. He reported he felt fatigued down the stretch of 2021.
Luciano is one of the top prospects in baseball but struggled last season, especially after his promotion to high-A on August 5. In low-A, he posted a .278/.373/.556 slash with 18 home runs in 308 plate appearances. After his promotion, he slashed just .217/.283/.295 with one home run. His strikeout rate ballooned from 22.1 percent in low-A to 37.2 percent in high-A. When I saw Luciano live, he did look fatigued and like he was not having fun. He spent time resting afterward but is ready to go for 2022. He stated his focus is "cutting down on strikeouts, making more contact, and putting the ball in play more. Luciano is working on a new, more open stance to achieve this.
