Masataka Yoshida signs a five-year, $90 million contract with the Boston Red Sox.

Fantasy Impact

Yoshida comes to Boston from Japan. He exhibits elite contact skills and does not chase often. He has shown decent home run power but some wonder how it will translate. Last season in NPB, Yoshida slashed .335/.447/.561 with 21 home runs. For 2023, he should be looked at as a .280 hitter that can provide 15-20 home runs.
