Tigers right-hander Troy Melton pitched five innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and four walks and didn't factor into the decision in an eventual 4-3 win over the Royals on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Melton was likely fortunate to get out of this one allowing just two earned runs, both of which came on a two-run homer off the bat of Isaac Collins in the sixth inning, ending his night. He escaped a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the first inning, and his four walks were a season-high. Nonetheless, he managed to keep the damage to a minimum, as he's done since returning from injury in late May. Melton owns a 1.95 ERA in 10 starts this season, and lines up to take on the Orioles at home on Tuesday night.
