Fresh off a monster contract extension, Giannis Antetokounmpo appears prepped to lead the league in usage rate again, making his ceiling as a fantasy asset sky-high. The back-to-back MVP's ability to accumulate top-five numbers in points and rebounds puts him in a tier of his own. He's also displaying an upward trajectory having just set career-highs in both categories with 29.5 points and 13.6 rebounds per game. Although his efficiency and free throw percentage can hurt your team some weeks, he shouldn't make it past the fifth overall pick in your draft. Dave Kluge - FantasyPros | Nikola Jokic regressed in every statistical category (points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals) last year from his 2018-2019 campaign but still finished top-30 across the board and with 13 triple-doubles (second-best in the league). The reason I have him ranked this high is because of his consistency over the last three seasons. He's averaging 19.5 rebounds, 10.4 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.7 steals over a three-year stretch. That type of production would warrant a top-five pick and there's no reason to expect him to slow down at just age 25. Dave Kluge - FantasyPros | |
The back-to-back reigning MVP will remain an elite fantasy force this season. Antetokounmpo has impressively raised both his average points and rebounds per game over every season of his seven-year career, even though he's seen his minutes on the court actually decline over the past three seasons. That might not be the case this year if the Bucks aren't able to coast as easily through their regular season schedule. He led the NBA with a hearty 37.5% usage rate and is a triple-double threat every time he steps on the court. His free-throw and three-point percentage still leave something to be desired, which keeps him outside of the consensus top-three Aaron Larson - FantasyPros |
