Jonas Valanciunas effective in Game 3

by Dennis Clausen | Pelicans Correspondent | Sat, May 6th 5:02am EDT

Jonas Valanciunas had a productive Game 3 against Cleveland, scoring 19 points and grabbing eight boards in 33 minutes of action. Despite his efficient play, the Raptor’s fell to the Cavs 115-94 and now trail in the series 3-0. With time running out, Toronto will look to get it together for Game 4 on Sunday night at the Air Canada Centre.

Fantasy Impact:

After a horrendous Game 1 that saw him put up a dreadful six points, Valanciunas has picked it up over the last two games. During that span, Valanciunas is averaging 21 points per game in just over 27 minutes of action. Head coach Dwane Casey has tweaked his lineups throughout the series and even played with the idea of starting Jakob Poeltl in Game 2. With their backs up against the wall, it will be interesting to see if Valanciunas draws the start for Game 4 or if Casey has other plans in mind. If he does start, he can be a welcome addition to DFS lineups, especially in tournament play as he has the potential to put up adequate fantasy numbers at a bargain price.
