Manu Ginobili retires from the NBA

by Sean Fitzpatrick | Mon, Aug 27th 5:52pm EDT

Manu Ginobili announced his retirement on Monday as a member of the San Antonio Spurs, the only team he played for his 16 seasons in the NBA. Ginobili was a late second-round pick back in 1999 but arrived in 2002 to the Spurs. He's one of just seven players to play at least 16 seasons with one team. He finished with one-Sixth Man of the Year Award ('07-'08) and two NBA All-Star appearances ('05 & '11) plus 4x NBA Champion. (Spurs PR on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Ginobili wasn't a premier fantasy option like some of the teammates over the years like David Robinson, Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, among others. However, he was one of the best Spurs legends and teammates and will also be remembered for his longevity and clutch play in the playoffs. There's a solid chance he's an NBA Hall of Famer and a lock to be in the Spurs Ring of Honor.
