Chet Holmgren: Thunder fear ‘potential’ torn ligaments in foot

by Luke Monaldo | Thunder Correspondent | Wed, Aug 24th 5:24pm EDT

Chet Holmgren is feared to have suffered major ligament damage in his right foot, potentially tears, and is seeking multiple opinions according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. (Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Holmgren suffered the foot injury guarding LeBron James on a fast break on Saturday in The Crawsover Pro-Am in Seattle, Washington. He limped off the court and exited the game right after the play. Training camps start in September and the Thunder’s first game is October 19 but this injury, especially a torn ligament, could cost Holmgren a major portion of his rookie season. This injury does not do anything to quiet concerns about the 7’, 190-pound big man’s durability at the NBA level.
