Deni Avdija posted 25 points (10-16 FG, 2-5 3P, 3-5 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists, and a steal in Tuesday’s 130-111 upset over the Celtics.
Fantasy Impact:
With the Wizards undermanned, Avdija came through big time in the team's impressive upset over the heavily favored Celtics. The third-year forward has taken full advantage of the added opportunities he’s received recently, with Kyle Kuzma, Bradley Beal, and Daniel Gafford all missing time. Along with matching his season-high in points against the Celtics Tuesday, Avdija managed another double-double, his third in the last five games. In that span, he’s posted top-80 fantasy value with averages of 18.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. However, despite his stellar play of late, Avdija is still only rostered in 48% of Yahoo leagues. The Wizard’s next matchup is Friday against the Magic, a team Avdija posted a 15-point and 10-rebound double-double against in their most recent meeting. Therefore, Avdija will remain a viable option to plug-in into starting lineups.
