Josh Giddey totaled eight points (3-11 FG, 2-5 3PT), four rebounds, six assists, and one steal in the Thunder’s 110-101 loss to the Rockets.

Fantasy Impact:

Giddey scored 8.0 points in the Thunder's loss to the Rockets, putting together an underwhelming performance that has unfortunately characterized his season. He has failed to demonstrate the utility he showed across his first two years in the league and has taken a noticeable step back in his production across every performance category of the stat sheet. This trend is unfortunate for managers who invested valuable draft capital in rostering him; however, the silver lining is that historically, he has shown to get stronger as the season progresses. With a lot going on this season for the young talent, it may be some time before he is able to showcase his value as a multi-categorical contributor; it will be up to managers to decide how to best manage him in their rosters, which could be problematic. Chances are you won't find many waiver assets with as high of an upside as Giddey. Still, things could get dicey if the overall utility of your lineups begins to dip in the face of possible waiver plays that could put you in a better position in the short to medium term as you continue to fight for competitive positioning in your season-long leagues. Giddey's price point has come down substantially; however, it still may be a tad too rich given the reality of his production, even in the face of the possibility of his upside limiting his appeal in daily formats. He has a usage rate of 24.0 percent, a plus-minus of 0.7, and averages 26.2 minutes, 11.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game while shooting 42.0 percent from the floor and 31.9 percent from beyond the arc.
