With the Blazers shaking up their roster so heavily over the offseason, and with Alexander showing a lot of promise in his play during offseason workouts, this is dire news. “He had an MRI (Friday) and it showed a bone bruise, so we’re going to kind of shut him down for a couple weeks and then work him back in,†said head coach Terry Stotts. “So he’s going to be out for a little bit.†As Alexander was fully expected to make the starting lineup given his offseason showing, this is particularly difficult news for getting a handle on where he sits in fantasy lineups since his participation in preseason games is now nullified.
