Cliff Alexander's knee injury is "worse than expected" and that "further testing of the knee pain he endured early in training camp revealed he 'tore some cartilage' from his knee bone." (The Oregonian )

This is bad news for an excited Portland team that picked up the undrafted Alexander and saw some success with him during a handful of preseason games that earned him a roster spot.
