Jamal Murray erupts for game-high 34 points in loss

Jamal Murray shouldered the offensive burden for the injury-ravaged Nuggets on Friday, exploding for a game-high 34 points (12-of-28 FGs), seven assists, six rebounds, and one block across 38 minutes in Denver's loss to the Cavaliers. The 28-year-old star launched a season-high 28 shots - his third-most in any game this year - and surpassed the 30-point mark for the 10th time this season while pouring in 28 points by halftime alone before cooling off down the stretch as the Nuggets' lead dissolved.

Fantasy Impact:

Murray is playing in just his second game since Denver lost Nikola Jokić to a hyperextended left knee that's expected to sideline him into late January. With the Nuggets also missing starters Aaron Gordon (hamstring), Christian Braun (ankle), Cam Johnson (knee), and Jonas Valanciunas (calf), Murray will be tasked with carrying the offensive load for the foreseeable future. The added responsibility represents a positive short-term development from a fantasy perspective, significantly raising his scoring floor.
