Ryan Nembhard sets Mavericks rookie record for assists in a game

by David Leisering | Mavericks Correspondent | Mon, Apr 13th 9:17am EDT

Ryan Nembhard set a Mavericks' rookie record with 23 assists in Sunday's 149-128 victory over the Bulls. He added 15 points (6-11 FG, 1-2 3PT, 2-2 FT) and grabbed nine rebounds in the victory.

Fantasy Impact:

With most of Dallas' starters out and Cooper Flagg leaving early with an ankle injury, Nembhard was the focal point of the offense. It was his fourth double-double of the season and he finished one rebound shy of his first triple-double. Meanwhile, his 23 assists blew away his previous career-high of the 13 he recorded on December 3, and they broke Jason Kidd's previous Mavericks' rookie record of 17 during the 1994-95 season. They also set a new NBA record for most assists in a game by an undrafted rookie.
