O.J. Mayo gets the start, then benched in the second half

by Patrick Cole | Sun, Feb 21st 12:48am EST

Mayo got the start at point guard, but his lousy first half play resulted in him starting the second half on the bench. He finished with nine points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3PT), seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals.

Fantasy Impact:

This was by far Mayo's best performance since joining the starting lineup over the past four games, but was largely salvaged by the extra minutes in double overtime. Coach Jason Kidd elected to start Carter-Williams in the second half, which makes sense given Mayo is only averaging three points, two rebounds and three assister per game before Saturday's game. Mayo will likely see 25-30 minutes per game, but can be left on waivers in most leagues.
