Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons compared to LeBron James

Philadelphia 76ers first-round draft pick Ben Simmons’ strong Summer League continued Sunday in an 83-70 loss to the Chicago Bulls. Simmons scored 18 points and in the process drew rave reviews from Chicago Bulls first-round draft pick Denzel Valentine, who called Simmons “a mini-LeBron. The night before that, Simmons almost notched a triple double against the Lakers with 8 points, 8 assists, and 10 rebounds. (NJ.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Simmons has a ton of fantasy potential this season. The Sixers have plenty of depth in the front court but are weak in the back court. At 6’10” and 240 lbs, Simmons has the size to play PF, but the athletic ability to play guard. The Sixers may even try Simmons out at PG because of his passing ability. I wouldn’t expect a rookie season as great as Karl Anthony Towns’ 2016 campaign, but I would expect Simmons to register plenty of minutes on a young Sixers team that will rely on the athleticism of the first overall pick from LSU.
