Anthony Black scores 18 points in start Sunday

Anthony Black scored 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-5 3PT, 3-5 FT) with three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in Sunday's 117-113 overtime loss to the Houston Rockets.

Fantasy Impact

Black earned the start with Jalen Suggs (groin) out, taking advantage by shooting 50% from the field and delivering strong fantasy production. He will likely start again on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors if Suggs remains sidelined.

Anthony Black stuffs stat sheet in win

Anthony Black accounted for 13 points (5-of-11 FG, 1-of-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, four steals, one block, and two three-pointers in Friday's victory over the Celtics. Black stepped up in the contest as starter Jalen Suggs (14/3/5 with four three-pointers) was limited to 21 minutes due to foul trouble.

Fantasy Impact

It was arguably the best all-around performance of the season for the third-year guard. Black was efficient on offense and a pest defensively, notching four steals and a block. He is currently providing late-round value in 12-team formats, but his backup role behind a healthy Suggs limits his fantasy potential.

Anthony Black scores 20 in spot start

Anthony Black finished with 20 points (8-of-13 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), one rebound, two assists, two steals, two blocks, and three three-pointers in Thursday's victory over the Hornets.

Fantasy Impact

Black was inserted into the starting lineup, with Jalen Suggs resting on the second night of a back-to-back. The third-year guard was solid defensively while taking on the assignment of guarding LaMelo Ball, and he also posted his best offensive game of the season, shooting 3-of-6 from deep. While Tyus Jones (five points, one steal, one three-pointer in 14 minutes) started the previous game Suggs missed, Black got the nod this time. His production was not negatively impacted, even as Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero handled most of the playmaking. Suggs is expected to return for Saturday's game against the Wizards, but the Magic had to be encouraged by Black's performance.
