Thompson saw his two-game streak of double-digit scoring come to an end, but made up for it with 11 rebounds, his first double-digit rebounding effort since December 22 when he grabbed 12 boards against the Portland Trail Blazers. He has also recorded at least two steals in three straight games and will look to extend that streak on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff pulled Thompson in the second half Monday, stating a preference for Ron Holland — who responded with 15 points, 11 rebounds, one block, and one steal in 26 minutes off the bench. Thompson finished with eight points (4-of-6 FGs), four rebounds, and two assists in just 18 minutes of the loss to San Antonio.

Holland's performance makes Bickerstaff's decision hard to question, and Thompson's fantasy managers should treat his role as uncertain until further notice.

Thompson's night could've been even better, but he made only 3-of-10 shots from the floor and was just 1-of-4 from the foul line. While not developing into a consistent scoring threat, Thompson is providing all-around numbers for the Pistons. He is averaging 8.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.4 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 14 games during January.

Thompson was good on the offensive side of the court on Tuesday, finishing with 14 points on just two missed shots against the Nuggets. He was even better on the defensive side of the ball, however, logging five steals and a block over the course of the game. He also finished with a +/- of +14, which was the best out of anybody on the team in this tough matchup against the Nuggets.

Ausar Thompson filled the stat sheet for the Pistons Friday night, dishing out three assists, recording two steals, grabbing eight rebounds, and chipping in 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-2 FT) in a 111-104 loss to the Rockets.

Thompson continues a modest stretch on both ends of the floor, finishing with one or more assists, six or more rebounds, and five or more points in each of his last five games. The 22-year-old remains an imposing wing option for head coach J.B. Bickerstaff as part of a versatile Detroit starting five, averaging 10.9 points, 1.7 steals, and 6.0 rebounds per game to go along with a usage rate of 18.4% so far this season.
