Cody Zeller scored 14 points (5-8 FG, 1-1 3PT, 3-4 FT), with 11 rebounds, three assists, and one block in 22 minutes in Wednesday night's 109-98 win over Miami.
Zeller only needed 22 minutes tonight to collect his 10th double-double of the season. His minutes have trended down of late, giving more opportunity to Bismack Biyombo and Willy Hernangomez. All three big men are mildly banged up, so Coach James Borrego has them rotating in and out of games. After the game, Zeller shared his thoughts on the indefinite NBA suspension that has taken the league by storm, stating on Twitter, "We're going to make sure that they're (hard working hourly employees and support staff at Charlotte home games) taken care of! Even if I have to pay out of pocket to help out." Nice gesture by Zeller, and hopefully the rest of the NBA family can chip in and help those that will lose valuable paychecks during this unprecedented time.
Cody Zeller totaled 13 points (5-6 FG, 0-0 3PT, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, one assist, and three steals in 28 minutes in the Hornets’ 108-99 win against the Rockets on Saturday.
Zeller contributed a respectable line against the Rockets this past Saturday. He put up a solid 13 points while shooting a healthy 83.3 percent from the field. This game marks the second consecutive contest in which he has reached double-digit scoring and his third consecutive game with at least five rebounds. Zeller is a consistent source of value; however, he rarely plays to his ceiling. With his high floor alone, he is worth a roster spot in every format, however owners should manage their expectations for how much value he can contribute night-in and night-out.
Cody Zeller provided 10 points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3PT, 6-8 FT) six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 24 minutes in Thursday's 114-112 loss to the Nuggets.
Zeller drew the start once again as Charlotte Hornets' Head Coach James Borrego continues to play musical chairs with the center position. The team is currently rotating Zeller and Bismack Biyombo after every three games. Zeller has started the last two contests and should be in line for another start on Saturday, while Biyombo will sit out once again. The pattern could always change, but for now Zeller is a streaming option only. The Hornets next scheduled contest is Saturday, home against the Rockets.
Cody Zeller totaled eight points (4-6 FG, 0-0 3PT, 0-3 FT), seven rebounds, and three assists in 19 minutes in the Hornets’ 104-103 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday.
After being out since February 25th, Zeller made his return against the Spurs this past Tuesday, picking up where he left off. He logged eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists in a limited 19 minutes of play and reminded us of what he can be capable of when he is healthy. On the year, Zeller has averaged 11 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. Even though he can be inconsistent at times, he is still a reliable source of value for most fantasy teams. He should be rostered in all formats; however, his matchups should be monitored closely to ensure you are playing him in an optimal spot.
Cody Zeller was a DNP-CD in the Hornets’ 99-96 win over the Raptors on Friday.
Zeller received the same designation Wednesday, but there was a thought that he may have been rested on the second night of a back-to-back. Even with the additional game off, Zeller didn't take the court Friday, while Bismack Biyombo went for a double-double in 32 minutes. Charlotte's frontcourt rotation has been a mess all season, so it's unclear what Zeller's outlook will be moving forward. Biyombo should be picked up in most formats until this is sorted out.
